WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO!!!!!
Dear ARMS,
I want to thank you for volunteering and taking time away from your
families to help make the holidays a little happier for me and my
brother. My dad is my hero, but he always tells me "I am just
doing my job". I think I know why he says that now.
Because it is people like you that are the real Heroes. You
all are volunteers and you don't have to do what you do and don't
get paid for it. You send things to my dad and all the other
soldiers all year long and now at Christmas when you should be
thinking about your own families you are thinking of mine and
everyone else's. Thank you so much for Project Little Soldier.
I will always remember you all! R.D., age 12
Dear ARMS,
I am 15 years old and a junior coach at a swim club three days a
week. My mom saw the clip on the news about Project Little
Soldier. She brought it in my room to survey all the wonderful
things I have and remind me that every Christmas we celebrate with
our entire family. It was then that I decided to donate one
week of my pay to buy gift cards. I explained to my head coach
what I was doing, she immediately sent out an email to our swimmers,
and this week the gifts started coming in. We are very lucky
to have the opportunity to swim at that club, and even luckier to
have men and women that choose to serve in the armed forces to keep
us safe. I hope these gifts help those families that are
missing their loved ones at Christmas. I.F., age 15 |

The National Association for
Uniformed Services is trying to gather
support to pass House Bill HR 887 which
would allow immediate family members of
military troops engaged in combat, free
mailing while that military member is in a
combat zone. This privilege would be limited
to wives, children, mother, father and
siblings.
It's easy to make your voice heard -- just
click on the NAUS logo below and the wizard
will help you send an e-mail message to your
Representative in the Congress.
